Seven Zhanjiang musicians will soon launch a drive to sell their original songs on the Internet.

The most expensive original song is tagged at 60,000 yuan, or more than 8,500 US dollars.

China News Service reported on Thursday that promoters hope this emerging sales mode will further the development of the local music industry,

The composer, Zhou Chonglian, an official of local cultural department and one of the promoters, says many music institutes want to cooperate with him and some record companies intend to buy the copyrights of his songs. Still, he thinks this launch was an effective way for local music to flourish.

Among these songs, "How Should I Face up" and "Red Maple Leaves in September" are selling for the highest price, while the song "Longing for Sea" is selling at the lowest price, 40,000 yuan, or nearly 6,000 US dollars.

If all of the songs sell out, the musicians will realize total revenue of 310,000 yuan, or approximately 45,000 US dollars.
