Chinese pop diva Faye Wong is expecting her third child, due next April.

Wong's agent confirmed Tuesday that the star is forty days pregnant with her second child with her husband, actor Li Yapeng.

The singer has devoted herself to charitable activities and faded from the spotlight after the birth of her second daughter two years ago. Reports of her return to the stage have surfaced many times, to no avail.

According to a report by Web site sina.com.cn, Faye Wong recorded several new songs last year for her friend, musician Zhang Yadong, who produced Wong's previous albums. The songs are due out on Zhang's new album at the end of the year.

The singer will celebrate her thirty-ninth birthday this Friday. The pregnancy is expected to further postpone her return to the stage.

Faye Wong gave birth to her first daughter, with her ex-husband, singer Dou Wei, in 1997. Her second daughter was born in 2006.
