The 2008 Changwon Asian Art Festival opened recently in Korea, attracting more than 200 artists from ten Asian countries, such as China, Japan and Korea.

The festival has taken the theme of "Post Citizen-Finding our Way", and will present artists' various interpretations of people living in changing cities.

Four Chinese artists - Liu Aiguo, Li Wake, Daniel Lee, and Li Kaiwen - joined the festival with their artwork to explain their understanding of today's Chinese society and the relationship between people and the environment.

Chinese documentary director Liu Aiguo brought four pieces intended to reflect Chinese urbanization and the effect the environment has on individuals.

Changwon is located at the far southeastern end of the Korean Peninsula and is close to Pushan. It has the title of "City of Environment".

2008 sees the 600th anniversary of Changwon, which also has the honor of being the host city of the 10th Ramsar Convention from October 28 to November 4 in 2008. This event is often referred to as the "environment Olympics".

The festival is split into two exhibition halls, namely "Remembering-Environment" and "Recovering-Environment". The artists used various art forms, such as architecture, photography, oil paintings, sculptures and multi-media, to reveal the problems and facts of urbanization.
