Zhang Guoli to debut in HK film
Adjust font size:

Mainland actor Zhang Guoli is the mysterious cast member who had been kept under wraps for crime thriller "Lady Cop & Papa Crook," Chinese media reported Thursday.

The film, slated to open next month, is a joint work by Hong Kong filmmakers Alan Mak and Felix Chong, who co-wrote the 2002 phenomenon "Infernal Affairs."

This will be Zhang's first cooperation with Hong Kong filmmakers, Thefirst.cn reported.

Zhang plays the lead antagonist to the characters played by Hong Kong stars Eason Chan, Sammi Cheng and Chapman To.

Although his television drama "Golden Wedding" was a major hit last year, Zhang has appeared infrequently on the big screen since starring in Feng Xiaogang's "Cell Phone" in 2003.

The actor is confident in his Hong Kong debut. "I believe in the directors and playwrights, because I appreciated 'Infernal Affairs' very much," Zhang was quoted as saying.
