Chinese actress and singer Eva Huang Shengyi appeared in the southeastern Chinese city of Fuzhou on Thursday to promote her first solo album "Huang Shengyi".

Huang sang several songs from her album and signed autographs for her many fans that had come to catch a glimpse of their idol.

More than one thousand CDs were sold within half an hour.

Huang was also appointed to the role of Love Ambassador by a Fujian-based TV station "Southeast TV" for raising money for a local Red Cross fund.

She said all the money earned from her appearance will be given to help two local disadvantaged students.
