In 1949, a Chinese military stage design team was given a "mission impossible" to transform the Tian'anmen Square 28 days before the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China was set to begin.

The China Film Group is now bringing the soldiers' efforts to the big screen in its latest production, "Tian'anmen," to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the PRC next year.

Headed by director Ye Daying, the movie is now being worked on at Hengdian World Studios in eastern China's Zhejiang Province.

The total budget of the movie has so far exceeded ten million yuan, the director has said.
