8, Jet Li's charity devotion

The international movie star, Jet Li has decided to halt his movie career in order to devote most of his time to his philanthropic work and his One Foundation. He has confirmed repeatedly that he will take no more lead roles in movies until his One Foundation is firmly on track. After Sichuan was hit by the devastating earthquake in May, Mr. Li rushed to the disaster area to supervise One Foundation's operation and comfort victims. Since then, his foundation has ensured hundreds of thousands of dollars have been used effectively. Mr. Li is still busy running his philanthropic business which he says has become his “life”. The year 2008 saw many other celebrities like Jackie Chan, Andy Lau and Zhang Ziyi devote themselves to charity. Their generosity has touched China and the world.
