Lesson Twenty-Five Talking About Vacation
lì li: mài kè, nĭ hăo, xiū jià qù năr le?
丽丽: 麦克,你好,休假去哪儿了?
Lili: How are you, Mike. Where did you go during your holiday?
   
mài kè: wǒ dào nán fāng qù le, qián tiān gāng gāng huí lai.
麦克: 我到南方去了,前天刚刚回来。
Mike: I paid a visit to the south and came back the day before yesterday.
   
lì li: wán de zĕn me yàng?
丽丽: 玩得怎么样?
Lili: Did you have a good time?
   
mài kè: hĕn kāi xīn. wǒ yóu lăn le háng zhōu hé sū zhōu.
麦克: 很开心。我游览了杭州和苏州。
Mike: Yes. I visited Hangzhou and Suzhou.
   
lì li: “Shàng yǒu tiān táng, xià yǒu sū háng.”
丽丽: “上有天堂,下有苏杭。”
Lili: “Just as there is paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth.”
   
mài kè: rén men dōu shuō xī hú shì hángzhōu zuì piào liàng de dì fāng.
麦克: 人们都说西湖是杭州最漂亮的地方。
Mike: People say that the West Lake is the most beautiful place in Hangzhou.
   
lì li: nĭ shì chéng fēi jī qù de hái shì chéng huŏ chē qù de?
丽丽: 你是乘飞机去的还是乘火车去的?
Lili: Did you go by air or by train?
   
mài kè: chéng huǒ chē, zhè yàng kĕ yĭ gèng hăo de xīn shăng yán tú de fēng jĭng.
麦克: 乘火车,这样可以更好地欣赏沿途的风景。
Mike: By train. I could better enjoy the scenery along the road.
   
 
Mike paid a visit to some scenic spots in southeast China recently. He is deeply impressed by what he saw and heard during the visit.

假期 jià qī: vacation

前天 qián tiān: the day before yesterday

游览 yóu lăn: visit

杭州 háng zhōu: Hangzhou

苏州 sū zhōu: Suzhou

西湖 xī hú: the West Lake

天堂 tiān táng: heaven, paradise

飞机 fēi jī: plane

火车 huŏ chē: train

欣赏 xīn shăng: enjoy

沿途 yán tú: along the road

风景 fēng jĭng: scenery
