By allowing the 24 US crewmen leave is a humanitarian move. However, the whole incident is far from over and this breakthrough is more favourable for China than for the US. It is a case of verbal wit now and Bush and the new administration need to watch themselves before they realize they're a kite whose string has been tied down.

I don't think only a letter could be enough for releasing 24 crew member.

Neither Sorry or Regret means Appologize! Bush's Administration had said Sorry and Regret to Chinese several times before that so-called formal letter. Our government just refused to accept that. But what happened a day ago? Our government suddenly used "Daoqian"¸" to translate Sorry and Regret, which seemed to be impossible days ago.

I don't understand why not trial the crewmen by the Chinese Law.It seems that our government is founding an execuse to allow the 24 crewmen to leave China.

Well! See there, that wasn't so hard. I knew if you all put your heads together, we would come up with an answer.

To say the least I would like to thank the Chinese People for their pertinence and hospitality they afforded to our team during this latest insolent. I am sure they are well and in good spirits. They will be home for Easter and with their families and this is good.

I have a Great Grandchild that is soon to be born and I was looking for a nice present for him or her. I found a stroller at the local Target Store and bought it. The first thing I noticed is that it was made in China and I can say I was most impressed with the quality. So, we have come a long way. Most of all I think we have become closer.

What we must realize most of all is that being close is not a sign of weakness. Only trust and good friendship will let two great powers live in harmony. And this is what we must do if our Great Grandchildren will have the same opportunities that we have today.

So, let us be friends and live in harmony and continue to show the world that we are above and beyond the trauma of war and mistrust. Only then perhaps the rest of the world will follow our example and live in peace.

The term "very sorry" is in no way an apology. China had broad international support and should have pressed the US warmongers to provide a complete apology. Now, with the release of the "prisoners of war," China has lost its bargaining card.

I am very sorry to hear that the pilot that collided with our airplane (US plane) was lost. He was a family man first and a pilot second. I am glad the situation was resolved. The Chinease nation and the United States should continue to have a good relationship. I know some Chinease people are enjoy them very much. My daughter is a medical student at the Univ. of Calif. Davis and she has a number of Chinease classmates that she adores. The students are highly motivated and very good people. I am convinced that either side knows exactly what happened in the collision of the airplanes but I think we should both learn something from that.

I agreed with china's decission. But china can not return the surveillance plane without resonable explanations.
