Peking University Students Cycle to Tibet
A bicycle team consisting of some 30 students of Peking University set out July 2 on their expedition to the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This activity is sponsored by the Cyclist Association of Peking University and supported by a famous bicycle company.

As arranged the team which is divided into two groups will complete a journey of 4,500 km first from Beijing to Xining and Xining to Lhasa trespassing Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Gansu, Qinghai and Tibet. The students will carry out studies on local economy, society and humane culture when arriving in each city.

According to chairman of the Cyclist Association of Peking University, the association, since its establishment five years ago, has successfully sponsored five large expeditions during summer vacations and got positive social effects. Casting their eyes on the Plateau, these students are now aiming at conquering the land of over 4,000 meters above sea level on bike.
