China, Japan Signed Memorandum on Internet Technology Cooperation
The Chinese and Japanese governments have signed a memorandum of understanding Thursday in Tokyo on Internet technology cooperation.

Headed by Wang Chunzheng, deputy-director of the Chinese State Development Planning Commission (SDPC), the Chinese economic delegation exchanged views with Japanese officials on macroeconomic policies, social development, as well as economic and technological cooperation of the two countries during its visit to Japan on June 5-6.

After one-year discussion, the SDPC and the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry have reached a common view on internet technological development and cooperation and signed the memorandum of understanding on internet Ipv6 technology cooperation.

This marks the new development on information technology cooperation between the two countries.

According to the memorandum, concerned departments and enterprises of the two countries will input a total investment of some 4 billion Japanese Yen (125 Japanese Yen =1 US dollar) for developing the Ipv6, a new generation internet technology.
