First AIDS Patient Getting Married
An AIDS-infected Chinese female and her healthy fiance were approved for marriage recently.

This was the first approved marriage between a healthy man and an AIDS-infected woman in China.

Both the husband and the wife are native to Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province. The wife, a 28-year-old who asked to be anonymous, was infected with AIDS for taking drugs five years ago.

Rather than splitting the relationship with her, the husband tried his best to help her break herself of drug addict, while encouraging her to start with afresh.

Due to acquiring preventive measures, the man was not infected after contacting with his future-wife for more than four years. After rigid medical check-up on three occasions, local doctors and legislators agreed him to marry with the girl.

They are expected to hold their wedding ceremony on December 1, the date for "World AIDS Day."
