A man, carrying a bomb, entered the Reuters office Beijing located on the sixth floor of the Shengfu Plaza at about 10:30 am on March 12. According to eye-witness accounts, the man was wearing a black jacket and sunglasses, carried a bag with a wire coming from it and held a detonator in his hand.
According to a policeman on the spot, the suspect was now confined in a room.
The Shengfu Plaza has been blocked with a security cordon. The fire service and police are at the scene. Part of the working staff of Reuters have been evacuated, with some still remaining.
