Iran Hands over Nnuclear Documents: IAEA Chief

Iran has turned over documents related to its nuclear activities as demanded by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei said Thursday.

ElBaradei said he had received the files from Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran's envoy to the IAEA, the Vienna-based UN nuclear watchdog.

"It is going to take us time to go through all these documents," he said, adding that he hoped the dossier would be "comprehensive and full."

On the same day, Salehi confirmed that Iran had submitted a report fully disclosing its past "peaceful activities" in the nuclear field.

The move came ahead of an October 31 deadline for Iran to ease international suspicions over its nuclear program.

Tehran agreed Tuesday to meet the IAEA's demands for stricter inspections regime, full disclosure of its nuclear activities and a suspension of uranium enrichment, after foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany held intensive talks with Iranian top officials.

Iran has also voiced its readiness to sign an additional protocol to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
