The 13th meeting of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, which concluded in Beijing Wednesday afternoon, passed a resolution the same day regarding the schedule of next year's full NPC annual session.

The Tenth NPC -- China's top legislature -- will convene its third annual full session on March 5, 2005, in Beijing.

The Standing Committee also proposed that the draft anti-secession law, which was examined during its meeting, be submitted to the full session for deliberation.

The request of Jiang Zemin to resign his post as chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China will also be considered and if approved, a new chairman will be elected.

Other agenda items include reviewing reports on central government work and central and local government expenditures in 2004, as well as examining and approving the proposed budget for 2005, selecting members of the CMC and the NPC Standing Committee, and reviewing reports on the work of the NPC Standing Committee, Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.
