Wang Feng won the men's 3m springboard diving title at the 23rd Universiade on Monday, the third gold medal for the Chinese diving team in Izmir, Turkey.
His teammate, Peng Bo, who had won the men's 3m springboard synchronized with Wang Kenan the day before, also added a bronze to China's medal collection.
Dominating the event from the first dive, Wang Feng collected a total of 758.22 points to win. Cesar Castro of Brazil finished in distant second with 697.26 points, beating Peng to third on 687.66 points.
Wang Feng did not give his peers a chance, producing a flurry of dazzling dives and collecting 89.25 points in his last effort.
Peng missed his chance to win his second Universiade gold, making two mistakes in the fifth and sixth dives.
"I'm not really in good form due to lack of training and recent intensive competitions," Peng explained, adding that his downturn and fatigue will soon be gone after he resumes regular training.
Olympic medalist Wu Minxia had won the women's 1m springboard gold on Sunday.
Yesterday, Zhang Nan also won gold in the women's gymnastics balance beam, and Chen Yibing championed the men's rings.
So far, the Chinese team has won 10 golds, seven silvers and seven bronzes at the event, an international sporting festival for students staged in a different city every two years.
