A roundtable meeting on China's Peaceful Rise and New Role of Asia opened in Boao Friday morning as a prelude to the 2005 annual conference of Boao Forum for Asia.

The participants will focus their discussions on opportunities and challenges for China's peaceful rise, opportunities and challenges for Asia as a whole, and influence of Asia's peaceful rise over the international community.
