818kg Drugs Seized by Customs in 2004

On Saturday, the director of the General Administration of Customs' Anti-smuggling Department said that last year, 818 kilograms of drugs had been seized, 106 drug trafficking cases cracked and 149 suspects captured.

Speaking in Beijing, Lu Bin added that the administration has enhanced coordination with police to investigate drug-related cases, and has taken an active part in international campaigns and exchanges.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, police found 11.1 tons of drugs and detained 53,045 suspects in 2004.
