Suspects of 2004 Bomb Attack That Killed 3 Chinese Arrested

Police in the southwestern Pakistan province of Balochistan have arrested six people in connection with a car bomb attack in 2004, which killed three Chinese engineers and injured 10 others, according to a Pakistan TV report on Sunday.

The incident happened on May 3, 2004, in the town of Gawadar in Balochistan, some 480 kilometers west of Karachi. 12 Chinese engineers were being driven to work in a van at the time.

Those arrested belong to a nationalist group Baloch Liberation Army, the private Aaj Television reported.

Police sources were quoted as saying that two of the arrested men had confessed to being involved in the attack.

Police said that a remote control bomb and some documents were also seized from the suspects.

The three Chinese engineers killed in the attack were Hao Guangchuan, Zhou Xuemeng and Guo Qihong.
