Diaoyutai State Guesthouse: Venue for Six-Party Talks

Fang Fei Yuan villa at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing will host the second round of six-party talks on the Korean nuclear issue starting Wednesday.

The talks will open in the Banquet Hall of Fang Fei Yuan, which can seat 1,000 people. From the talks between China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States last April to the first round of six-party talks last August, Fang Fei Yuan had attracted world attention.

Fang Fei Yuan is located in the center of the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Facing a green lawn to the south and a lake dotted with water lilies to the north, Fang Fei Yuan is known for its scenery.

Located in the west of
Beijing, Diaoyutai in the past was the imperial palace for the emperor's short stays, with a history of more than 800 years.

In 1959, the Chinese Government decided to expand Diaoyutai and built villas of different styles to accommodate distinguished foreign guests attending the 10th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China.

Since then, Diaoyutai State Guesthouse has received many foreign guests from different continents. Fang Fei Yuan, in particular, has hosted many important foreign guests and international meetings.
