Shanghai's Foreign Trade Up in First Half of 2004

Foreign trade in Shanghai port has prospered over the past six months, increasing 40 percent over the same period last year.

The total value of imports and exports surpassed US$130 billion.

Shanghai Customs statistics show the US, the European Union and Japan are the major trade partners. Trade with these three regions accounted for half of the total.
