Car Sales Up 27%

Car sales in China in the first seven months rose 27.1 percent year on year to 1.34 million units, according to data posted on China's Ministry of Commerce website Friday.

Quoting the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the ministry said that production of sedans rose 30.2 percent year on year to 1.45 million units during the period, and production of all vehicles rose 23.5 percent year on year to 3.03 million units. Total vehicle sales rose 20.6 percent year on year to 2.89 million units in the first seven months.
