Economic Work for Q4 Deployed

China's State Council, the highest governing body, deployed the economic work for the fourth quarter Wednesday.

The executive meeting of the cabinet, chaired by Premier Wen Jiabao, summed up the economic achievements made since the beginning of this year and pointed out that some problems still remain.

Aiming to solve the remaining problems and make greater achievements in economic development, the State Council deployed tasks for the fourth quarter.

These include improving work in rural areas and in the fields of agriculture, control of fixed assets investment, readjustment of oil prices, properly handling foreign trade frictions, maintaining financial and monetary stability, promoting economic structure reform, speeding up the development of social affairs, and solving problems related to the interests of the broad masses including employment and social guarantee.
