Beijing's Consultancy Industry Grows Rapidly
The consultancy industry in this capital city of China has enjoyed dramatic development in recent years, as the latest statistics show that the number of consultancy agencies has reached a record high of nearly 7,000.

Currently, more than 30,000 professionals are involved in this industrial line, which produced an accumulated turnover of 8 billion yuan last year.

Technology-related consultation, like technical development, transfer and services witnessed the most rapid development in the entire industry.

To meet the increasing market demand and improve the quality of services, relevant municipal departments are stepping up training for consultancy professionals, who are expected to be not only familiar with the market but also have expertise in the hi-tech and legal fields.

Experts here believe that China's imminent WTO entry will attract more foreign consultants to China, which will create both challenges and opportunities for the country's own consultancy industry and the domestic contingent of consultancy professionals.

Therefore, they suggest, advanced foreign experience should be borrowed in this regard, and cooperation should also be encouraged in order to facilitate the integration of the domestic consultancy industry with the global market.
