Domestic Fruits More Popular than Imported Fruits
During the week-long Spring Festival, Beijing's fruit market has been booming. Moreover Chinese people are choosing to buy fruits produced in China, instead of imported fruits, which were popular in previous years.

Mandarin oranges are the most popular fruit for Beijingers in winter. This year, the mandarin oranges produced domestically are selling very well.

A fruit seller with the Beijing Sidaokou Fruit Wholesale Centersaid, "To better compete with our foreign counterparts, this year we are putting more focus on packing and brand publicity."

"Guangzheng", a brand name registered by Changtai County in east China's Fujian Province is printed on its packing to publicize the brand.

In addition, the domestic fruits have gained the upper hand in price. One kilogram of domestic kiwi fruits was sold for just overtwo yuan, while the equal weight of imported kiwi fruits cost 14 to 16 yuan.

Liu Minzheng, deputy general manager of the Sidaokou Fruit Wholesale Center, said that domestic fruits have a very big potential market if fruit farmers and fruit sellers can improve their processing procedures.
