Rural Women Urged to Get Rich by Using Modern Science
Chinese Vice Premier Wen Jiabao called on women in rural China to get rich with the help of modern science and technology, and contribute to rural reforms and economic and social development.

At a meeting with outstanding rural women and representatives of advanced rural units at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing Tuesday, Wen said the countryside was a vast world where much could be accomplished. Rural women should redouble their efforts to build a new socialist countryside.

He urged rural women to work in the spirit of self-respect, self-confidence, independence and self-improvement, further emancipate their mind, cultivate new ways of thinking, be ready to accept new things and learn new skills in an effort to fully use their skills in promoting rural development.
