800 Million Yuan in Evaded Taxes Recovered
The paper quoted sources on Tuesday as saying that the evasions were discovered when officers inspected 7,166 taxpayers, and found tax-evasion problems with 5,057.

A taxation official believed that a lack of effective penalties was one of the numerous factors that should be blamed for the large number of tax evasion cases in the Chinese capital.

According to the official, tax evaders are now required to pay another five 10,000ths in late fees and pay fines that range from a half to five times of the amount of the unpaid taxes.
