Guangdong Province, one of China's economic powerhouses, experienced economic growth of 10.8 percent last year.
Sources from the provincial statistical bureau said the growth rate was 1.2 percentage points more than that of 2001.
The province recorded 1.17 trillion yuan (about US$140.65 billion) in gross domestic product (GDP) in the past year, the sources said.
