Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) is to sponsor Food Expo 2003 from Aug. 14-18 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, according to a press release from the TDC Tuesday.

In view of the rising popularity of Chinese medicine and healthproducts, TDC has joined hands with the Modernized Chinese Medicine International Association Ltd to organize the International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM), running concurrently with the Food Expo.

At the Food Expo, over 170 exhibitors from Hong Kong, Chinese mainland and overseas will present a vast array of food and beverage products to visitors. They include bakery products, snacks, confectionery, canned, frozen and convenience food, fresh fruits and vegetables, organic food, sauces and seasonings.

As for the ICMCM, organizers of the fair said, industry playerscan take this opportunity to exchange the latest market intelligence and keep track of new advances of the industry. On the other hand, the public can learn more about the characteristics and benefits of Chinese medicine and health products. This in turn helps promote the products among the targetend-users.

The ICMCM has attracted over 90 exhibitors from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Chinese mainland and overseas. They will showcase an extensive range of products including Chinese medicine, health products, scientific diagnostic instruments, equipment, machinery and packaging and health relatedbooks.

During the ICMCM, a large-scale conference will be held in which top industry speakers will share their insights on the hottest industry issues in traditional Chinese medicine and healthfood.
