Symposium Scheduled to Promote China-ASEAN Entrepreneur Exchanges

Entrepreneurs, officials and scholars from China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) will gather in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, on Nov. 10-12 this year to discuss economic cooperation between China and ASEAN.

Jiang Chengzong, secretary-general of the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, told a news conference Tuesday that the Second Symposium on China-ASEAN Entrepreneur Exchanges is aimed at promoting exchanges among enterprises and entrepreneurs and forming a communication mechanism among enterprises and between enterprises and governments.

Delegates from ASEAN countries, the ASEAN China Joint Cooperation Committee (ACJCC), the ASEAN headquarters and chambers of commerce will participate in the symposium, Jiang said.

The symposium is one of a series of projects of ACJCC set to trigger feasible cooperation between China and ASEAN since March 2001.

The first symposium was held from Oct. 22 to 23, 2001 in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The second symposium is sponsored by ACJCC, and organized by the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation.
