A Chinese communication expert says the number of mobile phone users in the country could reach a whopping half a billion in 2010. 
 
You Xiaohu says there were over 230 million mobile users in China at the end of June and the the number keeps on growing.

In some cities, between 60 and 80 percent of the people subscribe to mobile phones, but the rate for the whole country remains relatively low.

You Xiaohu says the potential for further development in the communication sector is huge.
