Total export of Christmas articles from China is expected to rise dramatically this year, due to the recent resurgence of the US economy.

Last year, exports related to Christmas exceeded US$1.5 billion, more than half going to the US.

Shenzhen, a southern Chinese city, has become the largest manufacturing base for Christmas presents, with annual exports surpassing US$1.1 billion.

Four fifths of Christmas trees worldwide come from Shenzhen and 70 percent of seasonal commodities in the US are made in Shenzhen.
