IBM to Move Its Asian-Pacific Headquarter to Shanghai

Computer giant IBM plans to move its Asian-Pacific headquarter from Japan to Shanghai.

The move will be gradual.

This is an indication that IBM is paying more attention to the Chinese market.

Chinese goods the company purchased were valued at US$2 billion in 2000.

IBM is an American company, which opened a branch in China in 1992.
