Beijing Distribution Group Emerges to Meet Stronger Competition

Beijing Distribution Group Co Ltd announced its debut on March 10 by merging the Beijing Xinhua Bookstore, China Bookstore and Foreign-language Bookstore. The group is committed to better service, stronger competition and more aggressive involvement on the international book market.

It was registered February 18 to integrate the resources on Beijing's book market and optimize the local publishing industry's structure. The group is ready to embark on more innovations by trying new operation patterns, expanding chain distribution and developing the modern-book logistics industry. It also plans to enhance online sales and put more pressure on traditional bookstores to ammend their existing operational glitches.

To realize these aims, the group, which has a long-term goal of operating diversified, cross-region and cross-industry businesses, will restructure the three bookstores and develop a share-holding organization..

With the globalization of information and communications, the international market is becoming an important sector for publishing houses. The Beijing Distribution Group decides on international business expansions and tries to promote Chinese characteristics on the international market to create multinational giants.
