The fourth China-US Telecommunications Summit has opened in Chicago, the first held in the United States.

The Summit views to further promote the exchange and cooperation in the telecommunication sector between the two countries.

Several workshops are to be held for the two sides to exchange views and experience in developing the telecommunications.

The minister-level summit meeting has operated three times before, starting in 1995, then in 1997 and 1999.
