South Korea's largest carmaker Hyundai Motor and its Chinese partner have decided to start producing Hyundai's Tucson Sports Utility Vehicles at their joint venture plant in Beijing.

Hyundai Motor signed an agreement on Wednesday with Beijing Automobile Industry Holdings to produce its Tuscon model through their joint venture Beijing Hyundai Motor in China this December.

Hyundai unveiled its Tuscon model during the recent weeklong Beijing Motor Show, which ended last Wednesday. SUV's are becoming a more common sight on Beijing's congested roads.
