Eight Injured from Aircraft Turbulence

A domestic flight encountered a strong current Monday evening, and the ensuing violent turbulence injured eight passengers and crew members. But none of the injuries were serious.

Of the eight people, four were slightly injured and have returned home. The other four are now still hospitalized for further observation.

The flight en route from central China's Changsha City to Shanghai was hit by strong winds while flying at an altitude of 7,500 meters, leaving some passengers and stewards who failed to fasten their safety belts injured.

The accident happened as the plane was descending into Shanghai.
