Father and Son Marry Mother and Daughter

For Wang Rongzhen, 50, Friday was a day of "double happiness," when he and his son wedded a mother and her daughter in Liaoning Province.

Wang and his son Wang Kaiyun had been living a bachelor's life since Wang's ex-wife passed away in 2003. Wang Rongzhen's sympathetic mother-in-law offered to help them find spouses.

"My son and I had been depending on each other. We hoped we could find a mother and her daughter," said Wang.

Wang's friends laughed at the idea, saying it was almost impossible.

However, Wang's ex-wife's relatives were very keen to help them. A relative surnamed Liu happened to know a 45-year-old single mother Wang Cuixia and her 22-year-old daughter Yan Liu in the same city.

Liu thought the two pairs would be perfect match and soon arranged meetings.

Wang Rongzhen and Wang Cuixia fell in love at the first sight. The younger pair also fell in love after exchanging many mobile phone short messages.

The four registered marriage Aug. 10, 2004. "Registry officials said it was the first time for them to see such happy marriages," said the father Wang.
