Seminar Held in Memory of Anniversary of Recovering Taiwan

The Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (DSGL) and the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots co-hosted a seminar in Beijing Sunday to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the recovering of Taiwan.

Zhang Kehui, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and chairman of the DSGL and honorary chairman of the federation, attended the seminar, which was presided over by Lin Wenyi, deputy executive vice-chairwoman of the DSGL.

Liang Guoyang, member of the CPPCC National Committee and chairman of the DSGL, addressed the seminar on behalf of the league. He said Taiwan's recovering was one of the achievements of the great victory of the Chinese people in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937-45), and the result of of brave resistance and bloodshed struggle of the whole Chinese people including Taiwan compatriots.

"Our memory of Taiwan's recovering today is to show to the world that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China," Liang said.

Other speakers included representatives from Taiwan compatriots and veterans of those fighting in Taiwan during the war.
