About 1,000 Vehicles Stranded in Qinling

Drivers walk around to keep themselves warm as their trucks are stranded on a highway in Qinling Mountains in Shaanxi Province in heavy snow and freezing temperature December 4, 2005. About 1,000 vehicles were stranded as their engines failed in a temperature 21 degrees below zero.  Traffic police had to close the highway and attempted to rescue the stranded passengers, drivers and vehicles.
