The Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee is busy soliciting sponsors and suppliers for the 2008 games.

The Australia-based BHP Billiton on Thursday became the 7th sponsor of the 2008 Olympics. The company will provide financial support as well as the raw materials for the Olympic and the Paralympic medals.

BOCOG officials say companies from the tourism and textile industries will soon join the list of sponsors. Marketing towards Olympic suppliers will begin on Monday aimed at small and medium sized companies.
