Workers are pouring concrete for the Three Gorges Dam in Yichang, central China's Hubei Province, on March 14, 2006.

The Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydroelectric project, is expected to be completed by the end of April or the beginning of May this year.

With a length of 2,309 meters and a height of 185 meters above sea level, the dam has been constructed from the northern bank and the southern bank of the Yangtze River by stages.
