New Sea Route Opens Between Fujian, Taiwan
A direct sea link between the Quanzhou Port in southeastern China's Fujian Province and Taiwan's Penghu Island was launched Tuesday.

Up to now, five ports in coastal Fujian have been allowed to operate cargo and passenger shipping to some ports in Taiwan.

The five ports in Fujian are Xiamen Port, Zhongyin Port in Zhangzhou, Quanzhou Port, Meizhou Port in Putian, and Mawei Port in Fuzhou.

The Zhongyin Port handles cargo only and Meizhou Port transports passengers only. The other three ports deal with both cargo and passenger shipping.
