Typhoon Sinlaku Churns toward Northern Taiwan
Typhoon Sinlaku will strike the southeastern east China Sea early Thursday morning before heading for northern Taiwan, according to a forecast from China's Central Meteorological Station Wednesday.

At 8 a.m. Wednesday, the typhoon's center was monitored at 25.9 degrees north latitude and 130.6 degrees east longitude. It is predicted to move west at a speed of 20-25 km per hour.

Affected by the typhoon's influence, gales are expected to be bearing down on the seas east of Taiwan, the northern coast of Taiwan and most of the East China Sea from Wednesday to Thursday. Storm force or hurricane force winds may occur at the center of the typhoon.
