Media Admin Rules Issued for Party Congress
Chinese and overseas reporters are welcome to cover the upcoming 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, sources close to the congress said on Monday. Applications for covering the congress can be submitted between October 9 and November 2.

Journalists from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions are asked to present their applications to the liaison offices of the central people's government in their region. Reporters from Taiwan are asked to submit their applications to the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

The journalists should also present letters of reference from their media organizations or official accreditation when submitting applications.

Foreign journalists are required to submit applications to Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, the Special Commissioner's Office of the Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong or the Special Commissioner's Office of the Foreign Ministry in Macao.

Foreign reporters stationed in China can present their applications to the Information Department of the Foreign Ministry.

During the congress, a media center will be set up in Beijing to help arrange press conferences and coverage of activities related to the congress.
