Int'l Hospital Opens in Tianjin
An international hospital specializing in the treatment of heart and vascular troubles has opened in the Tianjin Economic Development Area (TEDA), in the city of Tianjin, north China.

The new hospital, which is funded by TEDA and covers an area of some 100,000 square meters, includes facilities for medical services, teaching, research and rehabilitation.

The first-phase project cost 730 million yuan (US$88 million). Now it has 200 beds and can perform over 10,000 operations a year.

The hospital will be market-oriented and adopt a modern corporate system, which means that it will be accountable for its own losses and profits.
