Shunde Breaks Ground on Snoopy Theme Park
A theme park featuring famous peanuts characters will be opened in the first half of year 2004 in Shunde, Guangdong Province, the project's investor Shunde Jiaxin Realty Development Co. Ltd announced Tuesday in Hong Kong.

The Snoopy Fun Fun Garden and the Snoopy Playground, occupying more than 550,000 square meters and with a total investment of about 100 million yuan (US$12.2 million), will be the biggest snoopy park in the world and the first one of its kind in the Chinese mainland upon its completion.

The theme park, which is located in Jiaxin Citiplaza developed by Jiaxin Realty Development Co. Ltd, is expected to benefit commercial tenants and residents of the nearby Citigarden, among which some are Hong Kong citizens.

The project is also expected to strengthen the attractiveness of the Pearl River Delta as a tourist destination in southern China.
