Xiamen Holds Trade Fair on Jinmen Island
Trade exchanges across the Taiwan Straits have been further expanded. Mainland port city Xiamen is now holding its first trade fair on Taiwan's Jinmen Island. The event runs from Thursday till Sunday.

The event will display various foods, wine and other local specialties. Xiamen's real estate development and tourism attractions are also among the highlights. Over 100 mainland entrepreneurs took nearly 10 tons of goods to the fair. The delegation's head, Xiamen's Vice Major Huang Ling, said that such a size is much smaller than scheduled because of the Taiwanese authorities' restrictions. She expressed her regrets, yet the vice major also said that if there is only one chance, the mainland would try its best to further trade ties across the Straits. Both Jinmen and Xiamen businesspeople expressed their support of the three direct links of trade, shipping and mail services.
