Shenyang Airport Receives Record Passengers
The Shenyang Taoxian International Airport, the biggest of its kind in northeast China, handled a record high of nearly 50,000 passengers during the Spring Festival period from Feb. 1 to 7.

More than 4,000 local residents traveled abroad by plane, with Japan and the Republic of Korea as primary destinations. And more than 6,100 foreign tourists came to China through the airport, an increase of 25 percent over the same period last year.

Some 20,000 passengers chose charter flights for domestic traveling with the number of flights reaching 200, making up about one-third of total flights.

Flights to Fuzhou, Kunming, Xiamen and Chengdu cities were more than 90 percent full and those bound for Haikou, Guangzhou and Shenzhen were fully occupied.
