China to Suspend All Flights to Middle East
Starting this Saturday, there will be no flights to the Middle East from China, as the Civil Aviation Administration of China has approved China Southern Airlines' proposal to suspend its service to the area due to the accelerating war there, the China Central Television reported yesterday.

Starting April 5, China Southern will suspend its flight from Beijing to Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, via Urumqi.

Business on the route has been satisfactory, China Southern officials said, with most passengers on the flights Chinese people going to work in the area.

Air China, China's flagship carrier and the other provider of Mid East flights, suspended its service to the area before the US war on Iraq began.
